How fees work
Plain answers before you book. Call us if yours is not here.
Insurance we work with
We are out of network with health plans and do not bill them. Some plans pay you back for acupuncture you pay for yourself, and some do not.
Some PPO plans reimburse part of what you pay
Many HMO and EPO plans do not cover acupuncture
Your plan decides, so ask it before you book
If you pay yourself
You pay at the visit by card. We tell you the fee when you book and write it on your estimate, so nothing comes as a surprise. Many health savings and flexible spending cards work for acupuncture; ask your plan administrator before you book.
Receipts for reimbursement
After each visit we email an itemized receipt, called a superbill, that you can send to your plan. Whether the plan pays you back is its decision.
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it cover?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance. Ask for it when you book and we send it before your first visit. If a bill comes in $400 or more above your estimate, you can dispute it.
Your rights under the No Surprises ActChecking your benefits
We are out of network, so we cannot check your benefits for you. Before your first visit, call your plan with the four questions above. If it asks for details of the visit, we give them to you.
What the first visit includes
About 60 minutes: a talk about your treatment calendar and everything you take, a gentle session in the chair or on the table, and a plan for the next visit. Your acupuncturist explains the risks and answers your questions before any needle goes in. The fee for the first visit is on your estimate.
Have a question about paying?
Ask when you book, and we answer in writing.
